Fc Porto vs Cf Belenenses

Pick : Under 2.5,3 goals
Odds : 2.07 @ Pinnacle

While everyone in Portugal is still surprised with the good run of Braga (7
consecutive wins and one draw), the never ending "goal feasts" provided by
Jesus and Benfica, the deep crisis of Sporting, with the worst start since
1992 (with Bobby Robson and Mourinho), FC Porto fans remain apparently calm
with their team, despite their latest difficulties in winning.

Fc Porto is third at the moment, and comes from a 3-2 home win against a
renewed Academica, with a new coach, and also from a 2-1 victory against
Apoel from Cyprus for Champions League. In both games FC Porto revealed some
problems and for some minutes whistling was heard on the Dragão stadium.
The same happened against Sporting when they couldn't finnish off a team
that was down to 10 men.
The problem with the team seems to be in the midfield where the absence of
Lucho is more noticed. Falcao already showed his credentials scoring seven goals
in eight matches, only Cardozo did better (11 goals).
For this game FC Porto won't have Fucile that just got injured but
Belluschi and Tomás Costa are back to the team.

Belenenses is having a hard period and are in the six team group with 7
points, four more than the last, Académica. They come from a home draw
against newly promoted Olhanense and more recently they drawed at home
against Gil Vicente from second league, and got, therefore, eliminated from
League Cup. The absence of playmaker Zé Pedro (that returns for this game)
may have something to do with this but the fact is that they don't win a
game since round 2 when they hosted Naval and won 2 nil.
For this match, Yontcha the camaronese striker will be out.
Coach Pereira, however, has good memories from this stadium as he was coaching Nacional da
Madeira when they came here and shut everybody with a 4 nil win some seasons
ago (2005).

I can't see Belenenses taking any point from this game (or even scoring, hopefully) and Porto will surely win this match as they are a team cynical enough to get their job done and nothing else. Also, they have next tuesday an away match in Cyprus for CL.
On the other hand, Belenenses doesn't suffer many goals with the exception of that game against Benfica when an
early goal caused the team collapse. In Braga they suffered 3 goals but were
denied a penalty that could have given them the equalizer on the 90th
minute. I predict a low scoring game and a home win but not for more than
one maybe two goals.

SC Braga vs SL Benfica

Pick : Away win
Odds : 2.20 @Pinnacle

Face to face, the first two teams on the table : Braga, with the best defense, against Benfica, the best attack. Also, after another miserable performance of FC Porto (miserable for their standards i mean) we can say that these are the two best portuguese teams at the moment.

Braga slipped last round and lost their first points after 7 rounds scoring and winning. It's important to mention that Braga should and could have won that match if referee had whistled, like he should, before the Rio Ave striker headed to score. It's public also that Braga benefited from wrong referee decisions in a recent past too like a penalty not given to Sporting, a "ghost" penalty granted that gave them the three points in Marítimo and an "unseen" penalty when one defender played the ball with the hand against Belenenses, that could have given the blues the equalizer on the 90th minute. It's also of public domain that last year, Braga were severely "punished" by refs especially in the big games against FC Porto, Benfica and Sporting.

Despite these odd situations, Braga plays very well and fights till the end for their objectives, and the proof is that they have most goals scored after the 80th minute. This is work of Jesus, former coach, now at the service of rival Benfica and continued by Domingos.

Domingos was a great striker from FC Porto and was always a low profile character, and still is. He's not the type that brags about his deeds and he already said that it wasn't Braga who spent some 25 million on a team to fight for the title so it's only normal for them if they loose the game. Benfica instead should be worried in case of a non win after the millions spent.

Braga has undeniably a good team but tonight they meet a stronger team, with a better bench and with a coach that knows Braga very well, as he helped creating what it is now.

Benfica is on a great run. So good we have to go back to 1973 to see a start better than this, with more goals than now. They have only one draw on first round at home against Marítimo , but it was a complete accident so many were the goal chances lost. Marítimo could have perfectly left Lisbon as their neighbours Nacional did just last weekend, with six on the bag! Away Benfica isn't so productive, but even not keeping the same level, their average is over 2 goals per match (10 goals in 4 games).

For this game Braga has all main players ready while Jesus can't count on Cesar Peixoto and Carlos Martins.

This is more than a game for Benfica, its probably their hardest test till now, and a win here will put them on the highway straight to the title and i believe they will win because they have a stronger squad and i fear Braga won't cope with the high pressure of being nº1 for much longer.

Domingos, that never lost against Jesus both as a player and as a coach will know the taste of defeat today.

GL and Happy Halloween everyone!

Nacional vs Vitória FC

Pick : Draw
Odds : 4.11 @Pinnacle

Nacional 6th on the table with one point less than Sporting are big favourites for this game but i believe Vitória FC will come from Madeira with a point, at least.
Nacional comes from a disastrous defeat 6-1 in Lisbon, against Benfica. For this game they have two important casualties: Patacas and João Aurélio. They need a win in order regain morale for the next rounds and to continue on the pursuit of a place in the Top 5 of portuguese league.
Vitória comes from a home win against Leixões and the new coach, former União de Leiria coach, already said he wanted a strong Vitória and i believe he will get one point in this difficult away game.
I see Nacional wanting to score and Vitória defending with all they can and i see Vitoria with a possibility of drawing here. I'll go on the draw for pick one in November POD.

2-1

Yep, OlhOrebOque is doing a fantastic job, creating more knowledge about Porteguese football in this forum, and together with Limbi ant Mt.gardner 77 they have all positive records in the Poreteguese section at http://www.bettingadvice.com/showPre....php?idMenu=97, limbo being the mater at the moment.

But we need more tipsters for Portugal, espescially for Portugal 1.div. As you can see, http://www.bettingadvice.com/showPre...php?idMenu=253 , we have no tipsters there at the moment. INterested parties are asked to contact tipsters@bettingadvice.com

Académica vs Vitória SC

Pick : Academica -1EH X (Academica to win by one goal)
Odds : 4 @Bet365

Close of round 9 with a duel between arch rivals, the last Academica, and the 13th, Vitória SC with four points separating them.

Academica debut last round with a new coach, the third from the beginning of the season (after Rogerio Guimaraes and caretaker Ze Nando) scored twice in the Dragon and left a general good impression of a better organized team. They are chasing their first win and i believe they have good chances today against a team that also suffered a change of coach.

After coach Vingada dismissal, Vitória signed with Paulo Sérgio from Paços de Ferreira but the results are not famous, despite having conquered a miraculous (but fair i must admit) point against Sporting, in the last seconds of the match. This is of little importance if we see what happened again tonight with Sporting, another draw. I don't think that Vitória will take much advantages of this change of coach, except that maybe they may weaken neighbour Paços (that happened to loose at home today).

I believe the students with this young coach, a disciple of Mourinho, will want to turn the page on bad results and this is a perfect day against a team that some years ago were responsible for Academica relegation in the famous "N'Dinga" case many portuguese may remember of.

Central defender Sereno is back to main team on Vitória that in 28 years only managed to win in Coimbra once. I believe that the collective effort of the students will be compensated and that they might win and, that being the case, i don't think they'll do it for more than one goal and also that they won't have a great deal of suffering too.

GL!

2-0

Academica - Guimaraes
Guimaraes DNB @ 2.03, 188BET 5/10

Both teams changed coach recently, both will improve sooner or later and Guimaraes already did a little, at least in attitude. Last weekend they overplayed Sporting on 1st half but couldn't score, anyway Sporting defense is much better than Academica's defense for sure. They are able to have the ball and control the match due to its quality midfielders contrary to Académica that is poor in every aspect of the match, against Porto they had an organized defense but nothing else, they scored 2 goals after defense mistakes.
